So you want to become an AFAN Volunteer?

On behalf of the board of trustees and staff of Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), thank you so much for your interest in volunteering. Your advocacy and compassion for those in our community living with HIV/AIDS is admirable and greatly appreciated.

Thanks to the involvement and encouragement of our volunteers, we are able to lend assistance and provide supportive programs for more then three thousand men, women and children infected with HIV that are registered as clients with our agency. AFAN provides direct client services, food programs and prevention, education and outreach.

It is the mission of our client-services to enhance the physical health and psychosocial wellness of the individuals we serve, while promoting their dignity and improving the quality of their lives. The work set out before us is critically important and we know the remarkable impact volunteers have on the future of our agency and the clientele we strive to serve.

Due to the confidentiality of our clients, volunteering positions that have access to the status of our clients will need to have a more thorough background check.

Volunteering for our events do not require as much information since client information remains confidential.

If you should have any questions about AFAN, please feel free to contact us.
